‘Your nephew plotting to destabilize Osun,’ Adeleke tells Tinubu to call Oyetola to order

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on President Bola Tinubu to caution the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, over an alleged plot to incite chaos in the state.

At a press briefing on Sunday, Adeleke accused his predecessor of instructing security agencies to enforce a “non-existent” court ruling by forcefully reinstating local government chairmen on Monday.

“The chairmen were sacked by subsisting court judgments before I assumed office, not by my executive order,” Adeleke clarified, insisting that legal processes must be respected.

He urged Tinubu to direct security agencies to ignore “illegal orders” and to verify that the Court of Appeal ruling did not reinstate the dismissed chairmen.

In response, the Osun APC dismissed Adeleke’s claims as an attempt to evade legal responsibility. Party spokesperson Kola Olabisi insisted Oyetola had issued no directives and accused Adeleke of resorting to blackmail instead of legal recourse.

Olabisi argued that the APC-led officials were unlawfully removed in 2022 and had now been rightfully reinstated by the courts.

“The court has spoken, and justice must be served. We will remain law-abiding but will ensure the verdict is upheld,” he said.
