‘Your only hope is corners’ — Amad taunts Arsenal fan after United victory

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has aimed a playful jab at Arsenal after United’s thrilling 3–2 win over the Gunners at the Emirates on Sunday night.

Diallo, who was making his second start since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations in mid-January, was included in the starting lineup and was later substituted for Noussair Mazraoui as United looked to see out the match.

The Red Devils bounced back from an early setback to claim maximum points, with Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu finding the net before Matheus Cunha wrapped up the victory with a spectacular late goal that delighted the away supporters.

Following the match, Diallo joined the post-game exchanges on social media, replying to an Arsenal supporter on X by mocking the Gunners’ heavy dependence on set pieces this season. Arteta’s side have now registered 25 goals from set pieces in all competitions, the most among teams in Europe’s top five leagues.

“Your [Arsenal] only hope is corner,” Diallo wrote.

Arsenal once again demonstrated their dead-ball threat when Mikel Merino scored late from a Bukayo Saka corner. However, the goal was not enough, as United held on for the win, handing interim boss Michael Carrick his second victory in two games.

The triumph came on the back of United’s impressive win over Manchester City last week and further highlighted their strong form. Arsenal, meanwhile, struggled to create chances in open play and appeared dangerous mainly from set pieces, a shortcoming Diallo was quick to point out in his online response.
