A youth corps member serving in Kebbi State, Tayachibiyacha Ebal, has passed away at the Dakin Gari National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp.
The youth corps member unexpectedly collapsed and was quickly taken to the camp clinic for medical help.
She was then transported to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi for more advanced medical care. Unfortunately, despite the doctors’ best efforts to revive her, the corps member passed away.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Kebbi State, Muhammad Fingila, confirmed the news to reporters in Birnin Kebbi. He said that the deceased corps member’s body had been sent back to her home state of Adamawa.
Fingila expressed his sadness about the incident and sent a message of condolence to the grieving family on behalf of the Kebbi State Government.
Attempts to get a statement from officials at the Kebbi State NYSC office were unsuccessful. Their spokesperson did not answer phone calls or respond to a text message asking for their comments on the situation.
