After 25-year-old Kelechi Ogbonna was allegedly shot and killed by Ebubeagu security officials on Sunday, there were protests in Amaeshe, Oguta 1, in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.
While the suspects were trying to flee, they injured other young people who had already been hospitalized. The killing of the student sparked protest in the area.

The youths jeered them as they sped by while driving their Sienna and wearing black clothing.
The number of casualties would have been high if not for the quick action of police officers commanded by the Divisional Police Officer.
The youths transported the body of the victim to the residence of the previous chairman of the Oguta LGA interim management committee, where they held a protest over the death.
They urged the government to prosecute those responsible for the murder of Ogbonna, a student at Priscilla Memorial Grammar School in Oguta.
The youths just asked why the Ebubeagu Security personnel came to arrest a youth without permission from the police, according to an eyewitness who does not wish to be named.
“They came to arrest a youth but they were questioned if policemen were aware. They started shooting and in the process killed Kelechi Ogbonna. They injured others and they had been hospitalised,” he said.
Chinagorom Origbo, the community’s youth president, stated that the event had been reported to the police.
He claimed that the youth group was calling for justice in the situation.
Zinny Ogbonna, the deceased’s sister, as at the time of this report, said her brother’s remains had not been placed in a mortuary.
A text message addressed to the command’s police spokesperson, Michael Abattam, had not been replied.
