Yuletide: FRSC boss orders closure of commands December 15
The Corps Marshal of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Boboye Oyeyemi, has ordered the closure of all the corps commands across the country and its personnel deployed, including their machineries to roads from December 15 to January 15, 2020.
He said the vision would enable personnel visible in the nooks and crannies of all critical corridors for effective performances in enforcing road traffic rules which would guarantee safety of both human and properties on the roads during the yuletide season.
He said FRSC’s multi-facet vision on highways is part of strategy designed to checkmate excesses of motorists and other road users that could cause mishaps during the festive period.
The Corps Marshal spoke through Ogun State Sector Commander, Clement Oladele, at the state’s 2019 Special Marshal’s retreat/workshop in Abeokuta with the theme: “Special Marshal – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”.
The annual workshop, according to the FRSC boss, is to engage in more training, retraining and strategies on how road traffic crashes would reduce, adding that FRSC is a learning organisation that depends on regular training of personnel for more efficient and effective.
He appealed to special marshals to double their efforts in collaboration with the regular marshals and other sister agencies to tackle the indiscipline of motorists causing crashes on the roads.
The National Coordinator of Special, Dr Tsini Kwabe, urged all members of the group to maintain man and woman of integrity they have been known for. He urged the coordinators to quickly report anyone acting contrary to law.
The State Coordinator, Elder Emmanuel Fagbenro, appealed to new members to shun every attitude that could tarnish the image of the corps.
