Zamfara Govt takes in six-year-old boy, pledges to seek justice for father’s death

The Zamfara State government, through its Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and Social Development, has pledged to support the education and other needs of a six-year-old boy who went viral on social media for expressing his grief over the killing of his father and determined to avenge his death.

In a statement released on Thursday, Suleiman Isah, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and Social Development, said that Commissioner Nafisa Maraduna pledged to support the boy and his mother when she met with them at her office.

The commissioner said that she was first directed by the state governor’s wife, Hajiya Huriya Lawal, to find the boy and his mother so that the state government could provide them with financial assistance and counseling to help them improve their lives.

“The boy will be receiving counseling from specialists to improve his life and thinking to avoid what may happen in the future,” the Commissioner added.

“We have supported the child’s mother with capital to start a business to ease her pain.”
The statement said that the boy and his mother expressed their gratitude to the governor’s wife for her kind gesture, and the mother said that she would also help to provide counseling to her son.
