Zamfara Police rescue 12 kidnap victims
The Nigeria Police Force, Zamfara State Command, rescued 12 kidnap victims from a bandits’ den on Tuesday.
The rescued victims, who had been held captive for one month, were kidnapped by armed bandits and taken to the Kare Kukanka forest, where they were taken to a bandit camp led by a notorious leader known as Bello Maibille.
According to a reliable police source, a tactical unit of the Zamfara Police Command, along with some vigilantes acting on intelligence, stormed the Kare Kukanka forest in the early hours of Tuesday to rescue the victims and apprehend the bandits.
In confirming the incident, Zamfara police spokesperson Mohammed Shehu stated that among the 12 kidnap victims is a five-month-old baby girl.
