2019: Saraki visits Obasanjo, keeps mum on his intentions

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Monday evening visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The two later held a closed-door meeting that lasted for close to two hours.

Saraki arrived the home of his host located within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on Monday evening.

Saraki, who was accompanied by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, declined to speak on the agenda when accosted by journalists after the meeting.

He said he was on a visit to the Presidential Library because he missed the commissioning of the edifice. He said after his assessment of the library, he could confirm that it is a worthy project.

The senate president also declined comments when further probed by journalists to speak on the National Assembly crisis. He entered his official car and bade journalists farewell.

The embattled senate president had last week also met with former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida, in the latter’s home in Minna, Niger State.

Saraki’s meeting with the past leaders is believed to be related to the 2019 elections. He recently defected from the ruling APC to the opposition PDP.
