BREAKING: Atiku defeats Tambuwal, Saraki, others ‘secures’ PDP presidential ticket
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar appears to have defeated the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and nine others in the race for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party holding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
From the results announce so far at the ongoing convention, the Waziri of Adamawa has polled over 700 to overtake Tambuwal who was the leading among the 11 other candidates who se result had earlier been announced, he [Tambuwal] had an aggregate of 693.
Earlier, the Atiku’s lead was reported in the media as his agent, Deuben Oniyan, is believed to have received more ballot papers in the ongoing sorting of votes than Tambuwal.
As at the time of filing the reports the counting of votes polled by Atiku was still ongoing.
However, immediately Atiku hit 694 there was wild jubilation in the camp of his supporters.
Meanwhile, Saraki, Tambuwal among other contenders all went to Atiku were he was seated to congratulate him on his victory.
