Buhari receives Ayade, Matawalle as APC holds congresses July 31

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday received Governors Ben Ayade and Bello Matawalle of Cross River and Zamfara states, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The duo was accompanied to the State House, Abuja, by the Chairman of the party’s Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, with his Kebbi counterpart and chair of Progressives Governors Forum, Atiku Bugudu and their Jigawa colleague, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar.

Buhari, who handed the flags of the party to the two-state chief executives, thanked them for coming on board.

In his remarks, Buni said the new entrants were lured by the President’s achievements, adding that the party’s ward, local government and state congresses would hold from July 31.
