A Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, has upheld the suspension of Ali Odefa from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Odefa was suspended from the party on 4 October 2024 by the Executive Committee of his Oguduokwor Ward in Onicha Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, over allegations of anti-party activities.

In delivering judgement on the case Hon. Ovuta Herbert Onyedikachi & Ors v. Chief Ali Odefa & Ors (Suit No: FHC/AI/CS/182/2024), Justice Hilary Oshomah affirmed Odefa’s suspension. The court further ordered that Odefa must cease to present himself as the National Vice Chairman of the PDP, having been validly suspended.

The Judge ruled that the suspension officially took effect on 29 November 2024.
