[FULL LIST] INEC clears Chinda, Lulu-Briggs, Pidomson, 16 others for 2027 Rivers governorship race

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has listed Chinda Kingsley Ogundu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, among those cleared to contest the 2027 Rivers State governorship election.

Chinda is one of 19 candidates on the final list published by the commission on its website.

Also featured on the list are Dumo Lulu-Briggs of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and Gabriel Pidomson Baritulem of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside candidates from other political parties.

Other candidates cleared to participate in the election include Chibuzor Rain of the Action Alliance (AA); West Ivy of the Action Alliance of Nigeria (AAN); Lawson Angel of the Action Democratic Party (ADP); and Idoniboye-Obu Omangima of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The list also features Whyte Dagogo of the Action Peoples Movement (APM); Atata Kenneth of the Action Peoples Party (APP); Benjamin Oli of the Boot Party (BP); Warigbani Zebulun of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA); and Boms Ernest of the Labour Party (LP).

Others are Opusonju Silva of the National Democratic Party (NDP); Pepple Dienye of the National Network for Progressive People (NNPP); Minaibim Harry of the National Rescue Movement (NRM); Ejekwu Soni of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Kieghe Dumale of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP); Ben-Gurion J. Peter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP); and Hart Godwin of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).

The final list, signed by INEC Secretary Rose Oran-Anthony, was uploaded to the commission’s website on Saturday evening.

The publication represents a major step in preparations for the 2027 Rivers State governorship election, as political parties and their candidates continue to prepare for the contest.
