Hope Uzodimma has taken the oath of office for his second term as the governor of Imo State, following his re-election several months ago.
The governor officially took the oath of office at approximately 3:24 pm at the Dan Ayiam Stadium in Owerri, the capital of Imo State. The inauguration occurred shortly after Lady Chinyere Ekomaru also swore in as the deputy governor of Imo State.
The event on Monday witnessed the presence of thousands of Imo residents and guests from both within and outside the state. Notable attendees included President Bola Tinubu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and other prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders.
During his address at the ceremony, Uzodimma pledged to surpass his achievements from the first term, expressing gratitude to the people of the state for their unwavering support.
“Drawing inspiration from Apostle Paul in the Bible, Uzodimma emphasized that his commitment to creating a better Imo State will drive him to accomplish more during his second term in office.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his presence at the event and commended him for consistently providing support to both him and the state.
