Govs of Kano, Plateau, others arrive at Supreme Court, await verdict today

Governors of Plateau, Bauchi, Kano, and Zamfara states have reached the Supreme Court in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, where the apex court is set to render decisions in the gubernatorial election disputes encompassing at least seven incumbent governors elected in March and inaugurated on May 29, 2023.

Governors Abba Yusuf (Kano), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara) have taken their seats in the courtroom, accompanied by their legal representatives, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the justices of the apex court to announce their rulings.

The courtroom is bustling with anticipation as everyone awaits the imminent arrival of the five-man panel of Justices, expected in a few minutes.

Former Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong is also present in the courtroom.

Ebonyi State is also listed for consideration, and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has just entered the courtroom. However, Nasarawa State is notably absent.
