The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, is dead.

According to a family source who spoke to Reporters on Wednesday, Akeredolu passed away in Lagos.

It was revealed that State House doctors cared for him until his demise as he could not be flown abroad for medical treatment.

“Akeredolu is dead; he died in Lagos,” the source said.

“They were looking for dialysis machines to be sent to his secret location in Lagos last week.”

At the age of 67, the ailing governor returned to Nigeria in September after a three-month medical leave in Germany.

Recently, he embarked on another medical leave after being directed by President Bola Tinubu to transfer power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa. Since then, Aiyedatiwa has been serving as the Acting Governor.

After coming back to Nigeria in September, Akeredolu resided in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, attempting to govern his state from there, which sparked public outrage.
