Masari bids farewell to Katsina residents

On Saturday night, Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari pleaded for forgiveness for any wrongs committed during his eight years in government, which comes to an end on Monday.

While bidding farewell to the entire state’s residents, he also praised them for all they had done for him.

This comes just over 26 hours before Masari hands over the reins of power to the new Governor-elect, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.

The governor spoke during a media parley which held at the Katsina State Radio, anchored by Aliyu Abdullahi Yar’adua, the New Executive Director of the Katsina Library and Information Board, Sani Bala Kabomo, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information as well as Yakubu Safana, the General Manager, Katsina State Radio Service, held at the Katsina State Radio.

“I am as ordinary as anybody, I can make mistake, I deem it fit to come and seek for forgiveness of the good people of Katsina State.

“My hope and prayers is for the people to support him. My appeal to Katsina people is for them to be putting Katsina first in whatever they do,” Masari said.

The governor further said he has touched virtually all sectors of development within the period under review, with at least 50 percent coverage of all the sectors, particularly the education which he said they accorded top priority as all the developed countries in the world excelled because they give priority to education.

Governor Masari believes he has executed various projects that people may not see the impact until the next ten to twenty years to coming, adding that, whatever his administration did was meant to improve the lives of people of the State.

“There are so many projects we executed that people may not see the impact until in the next ten to twenty years to come.

“I thank Katsina residents for doing me what they have never done to any politician in the country,” Masari added.

He also expressed his confidence in the incoming governor Radda, saying that he has all it takes to deliver good governance for the state going by his 20 years political relationship with him.
