Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has signed into law the 2025 appropriation bill of ₦384.3 billion, exceeding the original estimate by ₦2 billion.
While assenting to the budget at the Government House, Governor Sule commended the Speaker and members of the State Assembly for their dedication and prompt passage of the bill. He also praised the State Ministry of Finance for their contributions, highlighting the importance of a realistic and effective budget to meet global standards.
Governor Sule reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing the budgetary provisions and ensuring optimal performance.
Speaker of the House, Danladi Jatau, noted that the budget underwent all necessary legislative processes before approval. He commended the governor for his developmental achievements and thanked Assembly members for their dedication.
State Finance Commissioner, Hajiya Munirat Abdullahi, added that the budget aligns with the administration’s policies to address the state’s growing expenditure and socio-economic demands.
In related news, Governor Sule also signed the Nasarawa State Electricity Law, enabling the state to generate and distribute electricity. He stated that this initiative, inspired by a federal directive, would leverage the state’s abundant hydro and solar resources.
The General Manager of the Nasarawa State Electric Power Agency (NAEPA), Engr Yakubu Sulaiman, expressed gratitude to the governor and Assembly, emphasising the importance of the new law in boosting power supply within the state.
