Osun primary election may turn bloody, as reliable sources close to the state government have informed that the life of the Chairman of the Forum of the Local Government APC Chairmen in the state, Hon. Ayokunnu Awotidoye is in danger.

The impeccable sources who asked that their names should not be revealed disclosed that two top Commissioners in the state cabinet (names witheld) held meetings with ‘State Boys’, the state-sponsored political thugs, to attack and possibly assassinate Awotidoye anywhere they find him.

The commissioners reportedly vowed that Awotodoye must be punished for having the guts to organize the party Chairmen across the state to reject the imposition of the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola as the flag bearer of the party in the forthcoming 2018 gubernatorial primaries poll.

Awotidoye who is currently in Abuja to submit the Forum of APC Chairmen’s petition to the National Working Committee (NEC) of the party, is said to have got wind of the plot and has decided to stay away from the State for the time being. He is however planning to petition the Inspector General of Police.

It would be recalled the party chairmen rejected entreties and appeals by the state government to win their support for Oyetola at a meeting summoned by Kolapo Alimi on Tuesday.

The meeting that was held in the commissioner of Local Government & Chieftancy’s office at the state government secretariat, was tension-soaked as the two parties exchanged hot words and the chairmen were not served even ordinary water.

The chairmen reportedly told the commissioner to report back to his principal that Oyetola’s ambition had already fractured the unity of the party and if he is imposed on the party as its candidate, APC may not win the poll.
