Despite the impasse in the Rivers State House of Assembly, the Rivers State Executive Council has approved a N800 billion budget proposal for the fiscal year 2024.
‘Budget of Renewed Hope, Consolidation, and Continuity’ is the title of the plan.

The areas with the most budgetary votes, according to the Commissioner, are infrastructure, education, health, and security.
The Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, on his part, said the details of the projections were thoroughly discussed before arriving at the estimate.
He said the budget proposal, as the title implies is aimed at giving a new hope to the people and consolidate on the gains of the state, especially in infrastructure and human capital developments.
