The lawmaker representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal divisions.
Nwoko announced his departure in a letter dated 30th January, addressed to the Chairman of Aniocha North LGA.
According to him, the ongoing crisis within the PDP has hindered his ability to fulfil his promises to his constituents.
Nwoko: PDP Crisis Affecting My Mandate
“The current structure of the party in our state has not been conducive to realising these promises,” he stated.
“After careful consideration, I have concluded that stepping away from the party is necessary to fulfil my obligations to my people.”
Despite his resignation, Nwoko assured his constituents and former party members of his continued dedication to statesmanship, unity, and the advancement of Delta North.
PDP Leadership Crisis Worsens
The PDP remains embroiled in a leadership dispute, with both Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye claiming the role of National Secretary.
On Wednesday, tensions escalated at the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting, when thugs stormed the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, leading to chaos and clashes.
