The capital of Plateau State, Jos, is experiencing noticeable tension due to the omission of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the ballot papers for the rerun elections for the Plateau North senatorial seat and the Bassa/Jos North federal constituency, set to take place on Saturday.
The Intra Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in the state has denounced the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to exclude a political party, deeming it both unreasonable and unacceptable.
Mohammed Kudu Haruna, INEC National Commissioner overseeing Plateau, Kaduna, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory, was present at the central bank overseeing the distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive materials to the local government areas.
The rerun elections were slated to take place in six local government areas: Bassa, Barkin-Ladi, Jos North, Jos South, Jos East, and Riyom.
