Christmas: Ambode to host residents in 20 centres
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State will host thousands of residents simultaneously in 20 centres across the state for the 2017 Christmas celebration.
The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Abdul-Hakeem Abdul-Lateef, said the move was targeted at boosting bonding among residents and enhancing community participation in governance.
Abdul-Lateef announced the plan on Friday after receiving an award from the Christian Conscience Group of Nigeria, led by its chairman, Enoch Ajiboso, in Ikeja.
Abdul-Lateef, who received the award on behalf of the governor, said, “Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is a governor for one religion. He is for all. That is why he decided that the Christmas party should be decentralised. We will gather in the 20 centres to celebrate at the grass roots level.”
Earlier, Ajiboso had explained that the award was bestowed on Ambode following the ongoing transformation embarked upon by his administration.
