Igbajo United Trash Falz Omar 10-0 to qualify for Osun FA Final

Teenage sensation, Ganiyu Wasiu scored twice to send Igbajo United through to their first ever Osun State FA Cup Final as they trashed the youthful Falz Omar FC at the Osogbo City Stadium last weekend.

Igbajo United will meet Osun United in the final of the state FA Cup. Osun United defeated TSI Football Academy 1-0 in the first semifinal match, played on the same ground. Igbajo United and Osun United will represent Osun State at the national FA competition this year.

Adeniyi Mujeeb put Igbajo United in front after seven minutes with a wonderful assist from Adebisi Habeeb from the first corner kick of the match.

Babalolo Mutiu completed teamwork with a smart shot inside the box to give Igbajo United FC’s second goal in the 30 minutes.

Under pressure, one of the Falz Omar FC defenders makes a clearance into own net from a cross from Mutiu, making it third goal to Igbajo United.

Wasiu who replaced Mutiu at 34min due to injury, found the net from Adeniyi Mujeed’s passes at the edge of the box. Wasiu scored the 4th goal from a pass from Ojebiyi Odunayo before the referee called off the first half.

Igbajo United stepped up the tempo in the second half and scored six more goals to make it 10-0 rout. The scorers are Odunayo (52), own goal (58), Gotie Taofeeq (64), Adeniyi Mujeeb (64), Akindoyin Nasiru (70), and Wasiu (84).

Prince Adekunle Fakile, Igbajo United’s Team Manager thanked the supporters of the community-owned club and promised that the team will prepare very well so that they can give Osun United a good match in the final.
