Nigerians blast Senator Adeleke for shunning Osun governorship debate
Nigerians have expressed their displeasure with the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Osun governorship election Ademola Adeleke, over his failure to attend the debate organised by Channels Television for the contenders.
The debate started with the candidates of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Moshood Adeoti; Social Democratic Party (SDP), Iyiola Omisore and African Democratic Congress (ADC), Fatai Akinbade present.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Gboyega Oyetola arrived late for the debate.
While Oyetola arrived after the national anthem had been recited and the three candidates had introduced themselves, reading their profile, Adeleke, on the other hand, failed to show up for the debate.
Nigerians took to Twitter to react to Adeleke’s absence at the governorship debate.

Adeleke has no excuse for not attending the #OsunDebate, It wasn’t a smart move at all. These people will drag him too much here, people who defended Mr LIFELESS when he boycotted Debate in 2015.

I hope the national assembly will find a way to make electioneering debates a compulsory ethos in our politics. I hate it when people run away from debates #OsunDebate #OsunDecides2018

They should have lied to Ademola Adeleke that it was a dancing competition to trick him to attend the debate. #Osundebate

Adeleke’s absence at the debate is already moral justification for Buhari to miss the next Presidential debate.
Adeleke messed up. #OsunDebate— Temporary PH Guy (@IvyGrit) September 16, 2018
It’s a shame that Adeleke refused to take part in #OsunDebate. We know he can dance and we know he’s a white-garment church attending Muslim but we looked forward to knowing what he stands for, his understanding of politics, his vision and mission.
Bad. Very bad.

#OsunDebate Senator Adeleke has just lost 25% credibility for being an absentee in the debate. #OsunDecides2018

How bad is Senator Adeleke if he felt he wouldn’t do better than these insipid, uninspiring candidates that just debated?#OsunDebate
