Team Nigeria secured another medal at the ongoing Paralympic Games, as Bose Omolayo claimed the silver in the women’s up to 79kg Para Powerlifting event.
This marks Omolayo’s third consecutive Paralympic podium finish, lifting 145kg to earn the silver, adding to the two gold medals she previously won in Rio and Tokyo.
Despite suffering an injury to her right arm after her first attempt, which resulted in two no-lifts, Omolayo had already done enough to secure a medal for Nigeria.
Her silver brought Nigeria’s total to three medals on Saturday, and six overall at the Games.
