2026 WCQ: How Super Eagles’ll defeat Benin Republic – Finidi George

The coach of the Super Eagles, Finidi George, has disclosed that his players will approach the match against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic with utmost seriousness.

Nigeria, presently ranked fifth in Group C, has experienced three consecutive 1-1 draws in their initial games against Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.

Addressing the upcoming match, Finidi emphasized that his players have gleaned valuable lessons from their previous draw against South Africa and are determined to secure a victory.

He said, “We are going to approach the game with every seriousness. The match against South Africa, that is gone. We have learnt from it. We just have to get ourselves to have that fantastic second half that we had [against South Africa].

“If we can start that way tomorrow [now today], I think we have a chance.”

The game will be played at the Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, Ivory Coast, at 5 p.m. (Nigerian time).
