2026 WCQ: Super Eagles camp buzzing with arrival of final batch of players

The Super Eagles camp in Uyo is shaping up as 11 additional called-up players have arrived in the Akwa Ibom State capital in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho’s Crocodiles.

Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, Taiwo Awoniyi, Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Joe Aribo, and Bright Osayi Samuel were greeted by members of the state’s Football Normalization Committee at the Victor Attah International Airport before proceeding to the team’s camp at Four Points by Sheraton Ikot Ekpene.

Following the addition of the new arrivals, the number of players in the camp has risen to 23, including Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, who was brought in as a replacement for Maduka Okoye.

The Nigerian national team is scheduled to conduct their initial training session later today on the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium practice pitch in Uyo.

The World Cup qualifying match against Lesotho is scheduled to be held on the main turf of the stadium this Thursday at 5 p.m. local time.
