The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the match will be held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
This encounter marks the first meeting between the two teams since their memorable clash in the semi-final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, which ended in a dramatic penalty shootout. The Super Eagles emerged victorious with a 4-2 scoreline after the match concluded 1-1 in both regulation and extra time.
Having secured two draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, the West Africans are still seeking their first win in the qualifiers. Meanwhile, South Africa currently occupies the second position in the group with three points from two matches.
Surprisingly, Rwanda leads the group with four points from an equal number of matches.
