Striker Che Adams has withdrawn from Scotland’s squad for the Nations League matches against Poland and Portugal. However, Rangers midfielder Connor Barron has received his first call-up.
Joining Adams in withdrawing from Steve Clarke’s squad are Celtic players James Forrest and Greg Taylor, as well as goalkeeper Robby McCrorie.
Barron and Sassuolo left-back Josh Doig have been promoted from the under-21s to provide cover, with Dundee goalkeeper Jon McCracken already brought in to replace McCrorie.
Adams, who started all three of Scotland’s group stage games at Euro 2024 before transferring to Torino in Serie A, has scored once in four appearances for his new club.
With Adams absent, Clarke will consider Lyndon Dykes, Tommy Conway, and Lawrence Shankland as options for the centre forward position.
Barron, who recently moved from Aberdeen to Rangers, has featured in six of the Ibrox club’s seven games this season.
Both Barron and Doig may make their senior debuts as Scotland face Poland at home on Thursday before traveling to Portugal on Sunday for their Nations League A fixtures.
