Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has mocked the Mediterranean Knights of Libya for their time-wasting tactics during the match.
Nasser Al-Hadiri’s team repeatedly disrupted the game by faking fouls on several occasions in Friday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.
Despite their efforts, Nigeria secured a 1-0 victory, with Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scoring the winning goal just four minutes before the end of the match.
Commenting on the time wasting tactics used by the Libyans, Nwabali wrote in pidgin with a laughing emoji on his X handle: “Who come wise pass?” This translates to mean, ‘Who is the wiser person now?’, referring to how the Libyans tried to play smart by wasting time.
Libya will host the Super Eagles for a matchday four clash in Benina next Tuesday.
A victory for the Super Eagles in this encounter would secure their qualification for the AFCON 2025 finals, which will be held in Morocco.
