The Super Eagles begin training on Tuesday morning at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo stadium ahead of the crucial double-header against Libya in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Both sides first clash in Uyo on Saturday with the reverse fixture scheduled for the Stade Taieb Mhiri, Sfax, Tunisia, three days later.

“Camp opens at Ibom Hotel on Monday, October 8, 2018. Training sessions on Tuesday, October 9 and Wednesday October 10 are open,” a tweet stated on the official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles.

“Training sessions on Thursday and Friday October 11 and 12 are closed, although 15 minutes filming will be allowed on Friday.”

Three-time African champions Nigeria, who are third in Group E, would hope to put their qualification hopes back on track with a win against group leaders the Mediterranean Knights.

The North Africans are tied on four points with South Africa but lead the group on superior goals difference after two matches. Seychelles are bottom of the log with no point.

Meanwhile, Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo is confident the Eagles would secure maximum points against the visitors despite starting the AFCON qualifying series on a shaky note.

Nigeria lost 2-0 at home to Bafana Bafana in their opening Group E qualifier before a 3-0 win over Seychelles in Victoria revived their qualifying campaign.

“We will be up against a strong Libyan side but we are the Super Eagles and we have a great squad,” Omeruo said on the Eagles’ Twitter handle.

“We will give our all to pick maximum six points from both games. I have confidence in the entire crew. We urge all our fans to get behind us and give us all the support. We will not disappoint you all.”
