AFCON: We are determined to win, Onyekuru assures Nigerians

Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru has said the team are ready to give their best in the double-header Cameroon 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya, Punchng report.

Nigeria face the Mediterranean Knights of Libya on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, in the first of a double-header with the return leg coming up in Sfax, Tunisia, on Tuesday.

The Galatasaray forward said on the Eagles’ twitter account that the team know what coach Gernot Rohr wants in the two matches, adding that they would spare no expense at getting the points in the two matches.

He said, “We know what the coach wants from us, which is to give our very best against Libya, that is exactly what we intend to do in both games.

“We will work very hard to win and make our nation proud.”

Nigeria last attended the tournament in 2013 in South Africa and have missed out on qualification for the last two AFCON tournaments in 2015 and 2017.

Libya are top with four points in Group E, South Africa, who have the same number of points, are second while the Eagles are third with three points.
