The President of Senegal has rewarded each player of the national football team with a bonus of €115,000 and 1,500 square meters of land.
On Tuesday, local time, tens of thousands of Senegalese fans took to the streets of Dakar to welcome the team home. Later in the evening, the players attended an official ceremony at the presidential palace with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
During the ceremony, President Faye presented each player with 75 million CFA francs (around €115,000) and a 1,500-square-meter plot of land in an upscale Dakar suburb.
Members of the Senegalese coaching staff and football association were also recognized, each receiving 50 million CFA francs (approximately €75,000) and a 1,000-square-meter plot of land in the same upscale suburb.
