The head coach of the Flying Eagles, Ladan Bosso, remains hopeful that his team will recover from the disheartening defeat against Uganda.

Bosso’s team kicked off their journey at the 2023 African Games with a disappointing 2-1 loss to Uganda’s Hippos.

Despite being considered favorites, the Flying Eagles delivered a lackluster performance.

Nevertheless, the coach remains undaunted by the setback and assures a determined response from his players.

“We would have a positive meeting with the players. It is important that they express themselves,” Bosso said after the game.

“Logically, we would have liked to have started (the tournament) in another way, but the players are clear that there are two games ahead that could make so much difference.

“Anyone has the possibility of being a starter – am optimistic the players know what they stand to achieve and the task ahead.

“We talked about football with the group, about how we can improve the mistakes we had and thus move on with a positive mentality.”

The Flying Eagles are set to take on South Sudan in their upcoming Group B match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
