Aguero involved in nasty car crash
Sergio Aguero has been involved in a car crash ahead of Manchester City’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The 31-year-old striker was not hurt in the incident.
But it does raise some doubt surrounding Aguero’s potential availability for the weekend.
He was not away on international duty with Argentina over the break, as manager Lionel Scaloni revealed, “Sergio Aguero is not here because he’s been carrying a problem and has not been training 100 per cent with his club.”
Aguero was driving his £80,000 range rover to training in Manchester this morning at City’s Etihad Campus.
And the crash is said to have occurred on his way there today, with pictures having emerged of the damage.
Sky Sports claim Aguero reported to the CFA – City Football Academy, as well as the rest of the ancestor City squad.
It is said he didn’t need to be checked over by the club’s medical team, despite the clear damage to the car’s front offside wheel.
This was not the first time Aguero has been involved in a car collision.
Back in September 2017, the City goalscorer was returning from a concert in Amsterdam when the taxi he was travelling in crashed.
He suffered a fractured rib on that occasion, although it is reported he has escaped the incident this time without any serious damage.
The prang was described as minor, and Pep Guardiola will want to know whether Aguero will be available for selection at Selhurst Park come Saturday evening (5.30pm).
City cannot afford any more slip ups in their bid to keep pace with title rivals Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp’s men lead the Premier League table by eight points at this early stage.
Augero is the division’s joint top scorer alongside Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham on eight goals, and he was expected to start for City against Palace.
