Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois had to be separated after nearly coming to blows during a tense face-off.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the two British fighters will compete for the IBF heavyweight world title at Wembley Stadium on September 21.
Following the confrontation, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that the 34-year-old Joshua threatened to smash a chair during their pre-fight interview. The footage of the incident has now been released.
Joshua first said: “Honestly speaking from the bottom of my heart, aside from belts and aside from it being him, I’m just ready to fight.”
“Let’s go, let’s go. If he wants to swing go, let’s go now,” Dubois replied but his fellow Brit clapped back: “Shut up. Relax, relax.”
Dubois then asked: “Do you want to go now? Let’s go. Do you want to go now?” But Joshua was still unhappy, replying: “Relax… [Do you want] this f****** chair across your face? Don’t disrespect me.”
Dubois then said “You can’t intimidate me” on three occasions, with ‘AJ’ continuing to tell him not to disrespect him in response.
“Who do you think you are?” ‘Dynamite’ asked before Joshua yet again said: “Daniel, don’t disrespect me…”
He then stood up from the table, with Dubois and his promoter Frank Warren doing the same before security rushed in.
“Don’t disrespect me on my life, little boy,” Joshua said in frustration as Dubois was being held back.
