Anthony Joshua set to battle Jermaine Franklin April

British heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua, will make his comeback on April 1 against American fighter Jermaine Franklin at the O2 Arena in London.

This will be Joshua’s first fight without a world title on the line in nearly seven years, following his unification of the WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight titles between 2016 and 2018.

His winning streak, however, came to an end in 2019 when he was defeated by Andy Ruiz in New York.

Despite reclaiming his titles against Andy Ruiz later that year, Joshua has only won one fight since, a victory over Kubrat Pulev in 2020.

In 2021, he was defeated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk, who outboxed and outpointed him.

Joshua will enter the ring with a new coach, Derrick James, and a renewed determination to impress.

Franklin, on the other hand, is undeterred and hopes to cause an upset. He declared on social media that he will not need the judges to decide the winner on April 1.

The American has stated that he does not box and will fight Joshua with the goal of winning.
