Anthony Joshua slips to 5th in WBA rankings

Nigerian boxing super star, Anthony Joshua has slipped to number five in the latest ranking of boxing champions by the World Boxing Association.

He plunged in the ranking after losing his belts to Ukrainian heavyweight newcomer, Oleksandr Usyk in September.

Joshua now falls behind Daniel Dubois, Michael Hunter, Robert Helenius and Hughie Fury who rank from number one to four respectively while Usyk remains the current champion.

After defeating Joshua, the Nigerian-British champion have activated the clause for a rematch to contend for his belts again. They box 2022.

In preparation for his rematch, Joshua has been on a tour of gyms in California and Texas, with hopes to improve his fighting.

Analysts are expecting a change or addition to his training team, as Joshua prepares to improve ahead of the rematch.

If Joshua regains his belts from Usyk, possibilities of a unifying title fight between him and WBC champion, Tyson Fury may be underway again.
