Anthony Joshua is set to clash with fellow Briton Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium on 21 September.

Undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt on Tuesday, leading to interim champion Dubois, 26, being promoted to champion status.

Two-time world champion Joshua, 34, is currently on a four-fight winning streak, with three stoppages in his last three bouts.

Dubois has secured victories in his last two fights, defeating Jarrell Miller in December and Filip Hrgovic this month to earn the interim champion title.

Initially, Ukrainian Usyk requested to retain the IBF belt so it could be on the line in his rematch against Britain’s Tyson Fury on 21 December, but he later changed his mind.

“Anthony and Daniel, I know the IBF title is important to you. It is my present to you on 21 September,” Usyk said in a video message on X.

Dubois faced Usyk in August for his first world title attempt, losing in a controversial match. Dubois knocked down Usyk in the fifth round with a punch that the referee ruled as a low blow, leading to a stoppage loss in the ninth round.

Dubois has secured 21 wins out of 23 fights, while Joshua boasts 28 victories and three losses. Together, they have achieved a combined total of 45 knockouts.

This event will mark the first boxing match at Wembley since Fury’s victory over Dillian Whyte in December 2022. Joshua will be making his fourth appearance at Wembley, his third as a headliner, while Dubois will be headlining at a 60,000-plus venue for the first time.

The winner of this bout will be in an excellent position to challenge the victor of the Usyk-Fury fight.
