Arsenal fans banned for tragedy chanting

Three Arsenal fans have received three-year football banning orders after admitting to chanting offensive remarks during an FA Cup match against Liverpool.

The fans faced charges of a public order offense following their remarks during the match at Emirates Stadium on January 7th.

Arsenal stated that they maintain a “zero-tolerance approach” towards offensive chanting.

“We strongly condemn this abhorrent behaviour,” the club said in a statement on its website.

“We will always ensure strong action is taken against those found guilty of such behaviour,” added Arsenal’s statement.

A Manchester United supporter was charged on Wednesday in relation to offensive chanting directed at Liverpool fans during last weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final match.

The charge followed an inquiry by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) triggered by a video circulating online, depicting an individual in the home section of the Old Trafford crowd.

Additionally, a video capturing a purported incident in the Liverpool section is currently under investigation.

Greater Manchester Police asserted that these incidents “exceeded the boundaries of acceptability.”

The Football Association has also issued a “strong” condemnation of “offensive, abusive, and discriminatory chants” within football stadiums.
