Arsenal holds tight to Premiership first position, wallops Brighton FC 4-2

The Gunners remain in first place in the Premier League heading into the New Year after beating Brighton on New Year’s Eve at the Amex Stadium to maintain their position.

When trying to mount a spectacular comeback in the game, Brighton was lost 4-2 by Arsenal after VAR disallowed Brighton’s third goal in the 90th minute of play for offside.

Bukayo Saka gave the Gunners an early lead in the second minute. Captain Martin Odegaard doubled the lead in the 39th minute, and Billy Gilmour of Brighton scored for his team just before halftime in the 45th.

Eddie Nketiah scored a goal for the Arsenal shortly after the break in the 47th minute, and Gabriel Martinelli added a fourth goal for the Gunners with a spectacular strike in the 71st.
