Arsenal reportedly ready to sell Ghanaian midfielder to fund January transfers
Arsenal is purportedly considering the option of selling Thomas Partey to generate funds for January signings. The Ghanaian international is facing an uncertain future with the north London club, merely three years after his transfer from Atletico Madrid.
According to reports, the midfielder’s time at the Emirates Stadium has been marred by a series of injuries, impeding his development with the Gunners.
The 30-year-old has featured in just three Premier League matches this season, with his last game dating back to Arsenal’s encounter with Manchester City in October.
Subsequently, he underwent thigh surgery to address the injury, sidelining him until 2024.
Could Arsenal offload Partey in January?
However, Partey might have played his final match in an Arsenal jersey, as reports suggest that the club is open to selling him in January to finance new player acquisitions.
According to reports, the North London club is contemplating the option of offloading the midfielder in the upcoming year.
Proceeds from his potential sale are anticipated to be used for securing new signings, with the EPL leaders expressing interest in acquiring a prolific striker and a central midfielder.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Brentford’s Ivan Toney, and Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz are among the players being considered for a possible move to the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Partey has attracted interest from Juventus and the Saudi Pro League.
