Aston Villa have expressed interest in signing Gabi Nunes, the Brazil international and Levante forward.
To secure the 27-year-old’s services, they would need to activate his release clause of €300,000 (£250,000).
Nunes, who has earned 22 caps for Brazil, was a member of the squad that won a silver medal at the Paris Olympic Games.
Villa, having already made seven signings this summer, are investing significantly under new manager Robert de Pauw.
Acquiring Nunes would underscore their ambition to challenge the WSL’s traditional top four—Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
Should Nunes join Villa, it would set a new club record and rank among the most significant transfers in WSL history.
The current British record is held by Chelsea’s signing of Mayra Ramirez for £384,000, while Jill Roord’s move to Manchester City in 2023 for over £300,000 stands as a club record.
