Atletico Madrid have confirmed the arrival of Lee Kang-in from Paris Saint-Germain.
The South Korean international has put pen to paper on a five-year contract after Atleti reportedly reached a €40m agreement with PSG to secure the winger’s transfer.
Lee moved to the French champions before the 2023-24 season and featured 124 times across all competitions, registering 16 goals and 16 assists during his spell in Paris.
During his time at PSG, the 25-year-old collected 12 major trophies, including three Ligue 1 crowns and consecutive Champions League triumphs over the last two campaigns.
His latest European success also made him only the second South Korean footballer to win the Champions League, following Park Ji-sung, who achieved the feat with Manchester United.
Before his move to Spain, the ex-Valencia and Mallorca attacker had already earned 50 caps for South Korea, contributing 11 goals and 14 assists.
One of those assists came at this summer’s World Cup, where Lee played a key role in a 2-1 group-stage victory over Czechia.
In that contest, he completed five successful dribbles and drew four fouls. No player managed both numbers in a single match during the entire 2022 tournament, with Eden Hazard against France in the 2018 semi-final being the previous player to reach those figures in a World Cup game.
Diego Simeone’s men will kick off their 2026-27 LaLiga season at home against newly promoted Malaga on August 19.
Ahead of the league opener, Atletico are scheduled to take on Getafe, United, Manchester City and Marseille in a series of pre-season friendlies.
