Atletico snatch late winner to defeat PSG
Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League struggles continued as they fell to Atletico Madrid at home, extending their winless streak to three games.
In a tense match, Angel Correa clinched the victory for Atletico with a goal in the third minute of added time.
PSG’s Warren Zaire-Emery, 18, made history as the youngest player to start 15 games in the competition and celebrated with an early goal.
The midfielder scored in the 14th minute, capitalizing on a lapse by Atletico defender Clement Lenglet, whose former Barcelona teammate Ousmane Dembele stole the ball and set up Zaire-Emery for a clever finish past Jan Oblak.
Atletico quickly leveled just four minutes later when Nahuel Molina struck from close range after PSG failed to clear.
PSG maintained possession and intensified pressure in the second half, with Bradley Barcola and Achraf Hakimi testing Oblak.
However, Diego Simeone’s Atletico also sought a winner, and Correa secured it with a low shot past Gianluigi Donnarumma.
PSG now sits 25th in the table with four points from four games, while Atletico holds six points in 23rd place.
In their next match, PSG will travel to Germany to face Bayern Munich, while Atletico Madrid heads to Sparta Prague.
