Balogun joins Monaco from Arsenal in £34m transfer
Arsenal striker, Folarin Balogun, after a successful loan spell at Stade de Reims, where he scored 22 goals, has joined Ligue 1 side Monaco.
The 22-year-old striker has agreed to a five-year deal with Monaco, with Arsenal receiving €40 million (£34.4 million) for his transfer. The Gunners have also included a 17.5% sell-on clause in the deal.
Folarin Balogun, who has been with Arsenal since he was 10 years old, did not make a single competitive appearance for the Gunners this season after returning from his loan spell at Reims.
Balogun had to contend with stiff competition for a starting spot in Arsenal’s forward line, with Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, Kai Havertz, and Leandro Trossard all ahead of him in the pecking order.
