Barcelona coach reacts on Lewandowski’s disallowed goal
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has claimed that his team was unfairly denied a “valid and clear goal” during their La Liga loss to Real Sociedad on Sunday.
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski believed he had opened the scoring in the first half, but his goal was disallowed after a VAR review, which suggested he was offside by a fraction.
However, it later emerged that the VAR mistakenly confused Lewandowski’s boot with that of the defender, meaning the goal should have been allowed to stand.
Speaking on the development, Flick said at his post-match interview: “I saw the pictures and the decision was wrong, it’s valid goal.
“It’s very clear, the goal had to be valid.
“But we have to accept it, we shouldn’t blame the referee because we are all human and make mistakes… today was a big mistake.”
