Barcelona Gavi, suffers knee injury in Spain’s 3-1 victory against Georgia

Barcelona midfielder Gavi sustained a significant knee injury and had to leave the field during Sunday’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Georgia.

At 19 years old, he was tackled from behind, causing the knee bearing his weight to buckle, and he left the field in tears.

“It’s a serious injury to his right knee, but we need to wait to see how bad it actually is,” the Spanish football federation said.

Gavi has emerged as a pivotal presence for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team in the last two years, progressing through his club’s La Masia youth academy.
