Barcelona followed their Spanish Super Cup victory with a dominant performance, defeating Real Betis to secure a spot in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.

Teenager Lamine Yamal shone, scoring once and assisting another as Barcelona netted five goals for the second straight match, following their 5-2 victory over Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Gavi scored in the third minute, with Yamal setting up Jules Kounde for the second goal. After the break, Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Yamal added to the tally after the break.

Real Betis managed a late consolation goal through Vitor Roque’s 84th-minute penalty but were comprehensively outplayed.

Elsewhere, La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid comfortably progressed to the quarter-finals with a 4-0 win over second-tier Elche.

Struggling sides Leganes and Getafe also advanced, defeating lower-league opponents.
