Defending champions Barcelona have been drawn against Manchester City in the group stage of the Women’s Champions League, while record eight-time winners Lyon will face familiar rivals Wolfsburg.

Barcelona, who have claimed three of the last four titles, will also compete against Austrian champions St. Polten and group-stage newcomers Hammarby in Group D.

Manchester City, twice semi-finalists and runners-up in England last season, are returning to the group stage for the first time since its inception in 2021-22.

Lyon, who lost to Barcelona in last season’s final, will battle Italian champions Roma and debutants Galatasaray in Group A, alongside Wolfsburg, who have won the competition twice.

Lyon and Wolfsburg have faced off in four previous finals, with Lyon emerging victorious three times.

English champions Chelsea will take on Real Madrid for the third consecutive group stage, with debutants Twente and Celtic rounding out Group B.

In Group C, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Juventus will compete, joined by Norwegian side Valerenga. Arsenal remains the only English club to have lifted the trophy, in 2007. Juventus recently eliminated two-time finalists Paris Saint-Germain in the second qualifying round.

The 16-team group stage is set to kick off on October 8 and will run through December 18.
